TV Causes Delay in Kids’ Speech and Language Development

Watching TV and delay in speech and language development in children are closely connected. Scientific studies believe that children, who watch TV every day for several hours, often have difficulty concentrating, their speech development is delayed, and their vocabulary is very poor.

delayed speech development in a 3 year old kid is not the only consequence of the negative influence of TV. It has been observed that children who spend a lot of time watching TV have less developed imagination. Finished cartoon stories do not encourage a child to dream. At the same time, if the TV is turned off, these children simply can’t make up what to do.

Poor physical development and overweight are more consequences of spending long time in front of TV. A wrong load on the eyes can cause loss of visual acuity.

Does all this said mean that TV should be excluded from the child's life once and for all? Of course not. TV firmly took its place in our modern life, as well as phones and other technical wonders. But moms and dads need to monitor how much time their child spends in front of the TV screen and what he watches.
