How to Start Feeding Baby on Solids

When it comes to feeding baby, new moms never stop searching for the right information. It should be noted that every baby is unique and requires individual approach in all aspects of his life. But general rules say that you should breastfeed your tiny one until he is 5 months old. Then you can gradually start feeding him solids in purees and steamed, without any salt or sugar. Your baby must never eat fatty and fried foods at this extremely young age.

But what if your little suffers from an allergy?

You should be more attentive and don’t be in a hurry.

1. Introduce your baby to solids bit by bit, start with 5-10g, and if you see that the baby feels well, that increase the amount to the one your doctor recommends within 7-10 days.
2. It’s desirable that you have a food diary and write down all the food stuff and amounts you feed your baby – it will easily help you later to create a personal diet plan for your child.
3. If there are signs of instability or worsening of the allergic disease in your child, consult with your pediatrician.

It is better to use a dairy- and gluten-free cereals such as rice, buckwheat or corn. You can add your breast milk a therapeutic formula into the porrige. If you decided to feed the baby with vegetable foods you should prefer purees with just one kind of vegetables that have a low allergenic potential: broccoli, squash or cauliflower puree.
