Teenage Depression

Teenage depression is not just a bad mood, this is a serious problem that affects all aspects of a teen’s life. Teenage depression can lead to problems at home and school, to drug addiction, self-loathing, to even violence or suicide. And there are many ways for parents, teachers and friends to help depressed kids cope with depression.

A recent study conducted by Queen Elizabeth Medical Centre in Western Australia evidenced that 10% from 400 adolescents aged 10-14 years were considered clinically depressed, and more than half of the children were evaluated by physicians as likely to be depressed in the future. Depressive adolescents believed that happiness can only be achieved with fame, money and beauty. Happy teenagers tended to think that satisfaction with life depends on successful personal relationships and setting worthy goals.
